SPOTLIGHT!

Featured work from IMS students

Week 1: Get ready for a new name in basketball

So many of our kids are really good at sports, but 5th grader Ali Leo’s basketball skills are something very special indeed.

He practices every day during break times, and is also a member of a junior team.

As you can see, he even proves quite a challenge for our assistant sports tutor, Shane, who is not only a very good player indeed, but has also had a few more years to practice 🙂

We love watching Ali Leo’s techniques and tricks get better every day, and really respect the fact that he puts so much time and effort into training for his favourite sport.

A future star in the making? We wouldn’t be surprised.

Week 2: Maksi’s amazing world map

I watched year 4 student Maksi adding the name of every country to a world map without help or hesitation. Amazing!

He and the other kids have been busy learning the names and location of European countries with Frau Gerstner, and most know them perfectly by now. But this – the entire world – was something even more impressive.

‘I practice at home,’ said Maksi. ‘I just really enjoy doing it’.

All of our kids have incredible talents, and surprise us every day with a multitude of different skills or abilities. Well done, Maksi – I wish my own Geography was half as good as yours.

Week 2: paper sculptures in the style of HuskMitNavn

The Danish artist HuskMitNavn (which means ‘remember my name’ in English) makes cool artworks that are both drawing and sculpture.

Eden’s version of the artist’s work was a fun drawing combining his love of comics with an interactive element.

Don’t you love the boy’s UFO pyjamas and cute teddy bear? 🙂
